TRAA Welcomes 119 U.S. Congress

As your national association, TRAA is already busy making inroads with members of the newly sworn in 119th U.S. Congress. It is critical that the industry maintain and continue to strengthen its connections with Members of Congress to promote positive legislation and advocate against negative policy.

To this end, TRAA sent letters to several incoming Members of Congress in key positions as soon as the election results were announced. The goal with these letters was to (a) congratulate them on winning their race and (b) to introduce them to, or remind them of, the industry's towing and recovery industry.

Secondly, Cynthia Martineau, TRAA Executive Director, and Elizabeth Martineau-Dupuis, TRAA Director of Education, were in D.C. during the Congressional swearing-in ceremony on January 3rd. They were able to connect with several Members, including Senator Tammy Duckworth, Congressman Jim McGovern, Congresswoman Becca Balint, Congresswoman Susie Lee, and others after the ceremony. This was an invaluable opportunity to introduce the industry to freshman Members and re-engage with existing industry champions.

Both activities help lay the groundwork for TRAA's Legislative Action Workshop & Hill Day next month. If you're not scheduled to attend, there is still time to register! Registration closes on Friday (1/31).
