Critical Industry Employee Authorization to Travel Regardless of Time of Day

The release of the CISA Releases Guidance on Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During Covid-19 has created an atmosphere of uncertainty and concern within the towing community. In addition to the opinion of our federal lobbying firm, TRAA has also secured a legal opinion from our firm, Baker Donelson, to render a legal opinion of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers during this COVID-19 crisis.

With many states issuing “stay home” orders requiring non-critical individuals, we felt it was essential to define the emergent nature of the towing operations and provide TRAA members with a document for tow operators to keep on their person as they go about the work of keeping our nations roadways open and safe for critical travel.

Members, please print a copy of TRAA's Letter and Legal Opinion for each of your tow vehicles. Keep these on your person while operating as documentation.

The Towing and Recovery Association of America, Inc. (TRAA) continues to be the voice of America's towing industry and a strong advocate for the nations towing community.

Who We Are

TRAA is the national association representing the U.S. towing and recovery industry. We act as the "voice of America's towing industry" by offering representation, education, and leadership at the federal level. Much of our focus is on representing the interests of the towing and recovery industry on Capitol Hill including promoting positive legislation and opposing potentially negative legislation. TRAA is the industry's watchdog on Capitol Hill!
