TRAA is pleased to report that after the successful passing of last year's National Move Over Law Resolution (H.Res.1463), Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-08) has reintroduced the resolution to the U.S. House of Representatives. Simple resolutions are unique that they can be reintroduced with each new Congress to maintain awareness of important issues and keep them in the forefront for both the public and lawmakers. The Congressman has been a powerful advocate for the towing industry and believes strongly in growing momentum and attention on this issue.
H.Res.152 is an important piece of legislation that supports the goals and ideals of a National Move Over Law and urges the national, state, and regional incident management organizations to promote existence of and adherence to State move over laws. The resolution brings much needed awareness to State move over laws and serve as a platform for future legislation to implement federal move over law provisions.
Reducing roadside fatalities is – and will always be – our top priority. TRAA has a multifaceted approach to our advocacy efforts, both in addressing public policy and raising public awareness to the dangers we face as an industry on America's roadways.
