David Weil's Nomination for Administrator of Wage and Hour Division of the DOL Failed to Advance

TRAA is happy to report that Dr. David Weil's nomination to lead the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor has failed to advance in the Senate. The rejection of Dr. Weil's nomination is positive news for small businesses across the country since he has a track record of trying to eliminate independent contractor status and promoting employee status.

As we reported back in February, TRAA joined a trucking, transportation, and towing industry coalition to oppose Dr. David Weil's nomination. The coalition sent a letter to Senate leadership urging them to reject Dr. Weil's appointment.

This is the outcome we were working towards, and we're delighted to share it with you. As your voice in Washington, TRAA is proud to be advocating on behalf of the industry and our members. We appreciate the support of each and every member; we couldn't do this critical work without you!
