TRAA Towing Safety Consortium

As organizations that facilitate the deployment of thousands of towing operators every day, motor clubs have a vested interest in ensuring that their service providers come home safely. The TRAA Towing Safety Consortium was developed to bring the motor clubs together to work collaboratively towards our common goal of reducing roadside responder fatalities. No agendas and no self-promotion, only the betterment of the industry. Together the group decided on a two-pronged approach: (a) first to increase SDMO enforcement and awareness among the motoring public through federal legislative safety initiatives and (b) second to educate tow operators on ways they can limit their risk of becoming a statistic.

The current motor club Consortium members are AAA National, Allstate Roadside, Geico, Urgently, and FleetNet. All motor clubs are welcome to participate; must be a current Associate Member.

One of the group's first projects was the hosting of a Slow Down Move Over Rally during the Florida Tow Show in April 2022. A condensed version of the presentation is available below:

Who We Are

TRAA is the national association representing the U.S. towing and recovery industry. We act as the "voice of America's towing industry" by offering representation, education, and leadership at the federal level. Much of our focus is on representing the interests of the towing and recovery industry on Capitol Hill including promoting positive legislation and opposing potentially negative legislation. TRAA is the industry's watchdog on Capitol Hill!
