Affiliate State Association Membership

Affiliate Membership is available to any non-profit association representing the towing, recovery, or storage industry on a statewide basis with a minimum of ten (10) members and registered in good standing with its office of Secretary of State. 

Affiliate Membership is essentially the state association’s securement of a seat on TRAA’s Board of Directors. The seat gives each affiliated state association an important say in the business of their national association and allows the state association to represent the interests of its own state members on a broader level. The Board of Directors meet twice per year. Additionally, Affiliate Membership comes with variety of benefits for the association valued at over $2,135/year including:
 
  1. Content You Can Share with Your Own Membership: TRAA gives permission for our Affiliate State Member associations to share 1-2 of our emails per month with their own state membership. These specially designated emails will include federal legislation updates and general industry news.* (value of $1,500/year) 
  2. Legislative Support on State Issues: TRAA helps numerous affiliate state associations with legislative issues within their state every year by researching, reviewing, and submitting bill amendments or comments, giving testimony, etc. There is a significant cost to TRAA associated with assisting on these state-level issues, especially when it involves engaging TRAA’s federal lobbying team to contact state legislators, but we do it because we strongly believe it’s in the best interest of the industry.
  3. National Legislation & Representation: TRAA represents towers on numerous federal committees and working groups with federal organizations. We also work tirelessly on federal legislation that impacts towers in every state; both stopping negative legislation and supporting positive legislation. Our federal lobbying firm, the TRAA Cabinet, and the TRAA LAN® are focused on long-term goals for the towing industry and monitoring for federal legislation that may impact us.
  4. Advertising:
    1. Complimentary listing in and two (2) copies of TRAA's annual National Membership Directory & Buyer’s Guide (value of $325+)
    2. Complimentary listing on our online website directory (value of $250)
  5. Events:
    1. One (1) complimentary ticket to TRAA's annual State Association Forum during the Florida Tow Show (value of $60/year)
    2. Eligibility to attend TRAA’s annual Legislative Action Workshop & Hill Day and represent the interests of your members on a federal level. 
*The emails affiliate state members are permitted to share will not include member benefit content such as TRAA's newsletters, proprietary articles, etc. A permission statement will be at the bottom of each email.

Annual dues for Affiliate Members are tiered based on your state association’s current membership:
 
  • 1-50 Members: $500/calendar year
  • 51-100 Members: $750/calendar year
  • 101-200 Members: $1,000/calendar year
  • 201+ Members: $1,250/calendar year

Note, the Affiliate Membership of a state towing association does not entitle a member of such affiliated association to an individual Regular Membership in TRAA. Regular Membership and the benefits thereof, are available only to TRAA's direct membership.

Much of our focus is on representing the interests of the towing and recovery industry on Capitol Hill including promoting positive legislation and opposing potentially negative legislation.
