Towing Industry Makes a Splash at ITS World Congress

Members of the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) industry convened in Los Angeles last month for the ITS World Congress 2022. This global event brings together world leaders, practitioners, policy makers, researchers, and private industry to share, network, and advance the world's transportation systems. This year's event featured an Emergency Response Day with the goal of increasing the personal safety of responders and motorists while also restoring traffic flow.

TRAA was proud to have several members on hand to represent the towing and recovery industry. Our own Ten-West Towing, Inc. from Bakersfield, CA provided one of their heavy-duty trucks in an impressive demonstration to educate other transportation stakeholders on the important service towers provide and the expertise available in our industry. Michael Wildman shared how valuable the seminars were and that the event “showed how far behind, the USA is in the application new of technology”.

A big “thank you” to the TRAA representatives who traveled to the ITS World Congress on behalf of the nation's towing and recovery industry including Gay Rochester, TRAA's WTRAA Representative, Michael Wildman, TRAA Treasurer, and Linda Unruh, TRAA Associate Member Representative. A special acknowledgement of Ten-West Towing for their time and effort setting up the truck demonstration. Participation in these influential events furthers both the industry's professionalism and the perception of other industry stakeholders. Time and resources well-spent!
