National Move Over Law Day Resolution (H.Res.1052)

We are pleased to report that as a result of those efforts, Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-08) will be introducing a National Move Over Law Day Resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives later today. The Congressman has been a strong advocate for the towing industry and is an annual speaker at TRAA's Legislative Action Workshop & Hill Day in DC.

The resolution is an important piece of legislation that supports the goals and ideals of a National Move Over Law Day and urges the national, state, and regional incident management organizations to promote existence of and adherence to State move over laws. This is an expanded version of a similar resolution introduced by Congressman Biggs (AZ-05) in previous congresses but not enacted. The resolution will bring much needed awareness to State move over laws and serve as a platform for future legislation to implement federal move over law provisions.

TRAA appreciates AAA National's support on this legislation and will continue to work with industry partners to build co-sponsorship for the resolution and advocate for its passage including during the upcoming industry hill day in June. We encourage state associations and TRAA members who have relationships with their Congressional delegations to reach out and ask your elected officials to co-sponsor this bill.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this introduction possible, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
